People in Kazakhstan preferred fish to dairy products

In the 4th quarter of 2012, the most consumed food in the households (average per capita) in the Republic of Kazakhstan were milk and dairy products, the least consumed - fish and seafood.

When comparing the consumption of basic food items in rural and urban areas in the 4th quarter of 2012, according to the Statistics Agency, the greatest differentiation is marked in the consumption of eggs and fruit.

Considering the regional dimension of per capita consumption of main food items by population during the 4th quarter of 2012, it may be noted that the highest consumption of bread and groats products during this period were for each Aktobe citizen - 36.2 kg, the lowest had Almaty residents (25.1 kg) . Aktobe citizens also succeeded in eating meat (22 kg per capita). People in Pavlodar preferred dairy products (74.1 kg).

According to the calculations of statisticians, over this quarter, most ate each Almaty citizen ate the biggest amount of fruit - 16.6 kg. But in eating potato Karaganda residents were the leaders - 15.8 kg per capita.
