By 2030, Moldova wants to become an active player on regional energy market

The Moldovan authorities seek foreign investment in local energy markets. At his meeting with Director General of the Regulated activities of Natural Gas Fenosa Corporation, Antoni Padhy, Moldovan Minister of Economy, Valeriu Lazar reiterated Moldova’s openness for investment in projects that would enhance the efficiency of the national economy and gave assurances that the vector of integration into pan-European energy market is irreversible.

1,000 Moldovan qualified construction workers may legally work in Israel

1,000 qualified construction workers may be temporary employed in Israel. An agreement to this effect was signed by the Moldovan and Israeli governments.

The workers have to be high-skilled and well trained in one of the following specialties: formwork for the industrialized construction, wood formwork, steel welding, glazed architectural terra-cotta coating for floors and walls, coating works.

Action plan to improve socio-economic situation in Balti approved

The Moldovan Government approved the Action Plan on addressing current problems and improving the social-economic situation of Balti municipality [Moldova’s second largest city], for 2012-2014. The Action Plan aims at building the public property effectiveness, improving the transport infrastructure's quality, in the energy efficiency in the residential sector, in the water consumption's efficiency and financial decentralisation, and social development of Balti population.

Moldova to formally seek withdrawal from the Energy Package 3

Moldova will formally ask the European Commission for its withdrawal from the Energy Package 3, especially as concerns the natural gas market. The application will be presented by the Moldovan Minister of Economy, Valeriu Lazar, during the 10th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community, which will take place on 17-18 October 2012, in Budva, Montenegro.
