Kazakhstan: No reason for bread markup - AgriMin

24.09.2013

Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Assylzhan Mamytbekov sees no reason for bread markup.

Speaking at the briefing of the Central Communications Service, Mamytbekov noted the market price for one ton of grain used to be USD 300 (or KZT 45 thousand), but currently it amounts to approximately KZT 27-28 thousand.

"This is a standard within which the Food Corporation sold grain by a fixed price in order to prevent raise in prices," Mr. Mamytbekov said.
