President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) Leonid Kozachenko expressed this opinion at a press conference.
“I consider an idea of the grain (Black Sea - Ed.) pool creation unrealistic today,” he has said.
In his opinion, for functioning of this pool, the state monopoly for grain export is necessary.
“It is impossible in Ukraine: more than 400 companies export agricultural products with us,” the UAC President noted.
According to him, the companies undertake great risks in grain exports, hedge them, therefore traders will not go to creation of the Black Sea grain pool.
To remind, in 2009, the Ukrainian Grain Association stated that it considers it unprofitable for Ukraine to create a joint grain association with Russia and Kazakhstan. The experts stress that in case of the pool creation, control over the Ukrainian grain market partially comes to Russia and Kazakhstan.
Prysiazhniuk earlier has said that creation of the grain pool with Russia and Kazakhstan is interesting for Ukraine, but on condition that the country's interests and its status as one of the largest players of the world market are taken into consideration.
