Ukraine: The trade between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia is growing

The trade between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia is growing at the expense of exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to the Saudi Arabian market, reads a statement posted on the government portal.

"Ukraine wants to increase the supply of domestic agricultural products and food to the Saudi Arabian market. In 2012, domestic farmers supplied $581.5 million worth of agricultural products to Saudi Arabia. In particular, grain crops were exported for $509 million and sunflower oil for $70 million. Domestic farmers have exported $34.2 million worth of agricultural products since the beginning of 2013," Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said.

Prysiazhniuk is the chairman of the Ukrainian part of the Ukrainian-Saudi Arabian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation. During his visit, it was decided to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in early 2014.
