Ukraine: Ukraine opened new markets for agricultural products in 2012
Ukraine opened new markets for agricultural products in 2012, in particular, Japan, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, and South Africa, and increased exports to the countries to which it traditionally supplied agricultural products.
Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk said this at a press conference at Ukrinform on Wednesday.
"Last year we opened new markets: Japan, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa. We increased volumes to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries," the minister said.
Last year, Ukraine also started exporting vegetables to the market in South Korea, which annually imports over $22 billion worth of food.
"Ukraine launched the procedure for agreeing on and regulating the norms of supply to the South Korean market of meat (poultry, pork, and beef). We hope to undergo these procedures within six months and open an additional market," Prysiazhniuk said.
