Ukraine: Dairy products producers have been receiving the state support for several years
The state provides farm units with support for the development of the livestock industry, including increase of livestock, meat and dairy products production. Thus, peasants receive subsidies for the young cattle keep and compensations for the purchased individual milking machines.
The state has been providing support for farm units involved in dairy husbandry since 2012. In particular, it pays farmers dotations for the young cattle keep. As of September 1, 2013 over 222,000 farmers have filed documents for the kept 288,000 heads of cattle.
Besides, the state has been partially reimbursing the costs of individual milking machines. 3833 farmers applied to receive such support in 2013.
Such type of support has its results. In particular, it has been increased the number of cows, their productivity and yield. Due to this fact it has been also increased the livestock production competitiveness, meat and dairy products consumption, the rural population incomes, created new jobs and improved social conditions in the villages.
