Ukraine: activation of the exports of buckwheat groats can change the situation on the buckwheat market

The majority of buckwheat producers inform what low rates of selling of the finished product on the domestic market do not contribute to enhanced of the grain purchases.

According to data of APK-Inform Agency, the bid prices for buckwheat remained unchanged and varied within the range of 3900-4300 UAH/t CPT. The owners often want to sell the grain at the price, which is higher by nearly 200 UAH/t.

At the same time, according to many market participants, in the near future the market situation is unlikely to change. The market operators called activating of buckwheat selling for exports as the only variant, which is expected to revive the rates of trading on the buckwheat market. At the same time, the market participants do not assume such development in the nearest future. The main reason is that the prices for buckwheat in Ukraine are much higher compared to, for example, one of its main competitors - Russia. So, the Ukrainian producers are ready to sell buckwheat groats at 880 USD/t EXW, but in the European part of Russia the prices often total 660 USD/t on the same terms.
