Russia: There is no effective wine quality control system in Moldova

07.08.2013

According to Rospotrebnadzor, low quality control is the main factor that holds back Moldavian wines in the Russian market. At the moment the situation is that the amounts of Moldavian production delivered to Russia do not increase.

Vasile Bumacov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, doesn’t make any steps to improve the quality control system, and thus improve the positions of Moldova in the market of Russia. In this case Rospotrebnadzor is going to do as it was done before: directly cooperate with producers’ associations and production suppliers.

From the beginning of 2013 there were 2752 wine shipments, 278 cognac shipments, and 336 shipments of wine production from Moldova to Russia amounting to 21 million 713 thousand 730.8 liters. At that, Moldova delivered 0.43% of total number of shipments to RF. This production corresponded fully to all sanitary standards
