Poland: Agrotravel 2013
On 5-7 April 2013 the 5th International Rural Tourism and Agrotourism Fair AGROTRAVEL were held in Kielce. This annual fair gathers more than 150 exhibitors and over 20 thousand visitors. This year’s fair was visited by a record-breaking number of foreign guests representing national rural areas networks from all over Europe and from diplomatic representations.
The award of the Minister of Agriculture in the „Most interesting tourist package” was awarded to the Stowarzyszenie Aktywizacji Polesia Lubelskiego for the package entitled „Ecological, active and creative time in Kraina Rumianku” and the „Most interesting stand” award was given to the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship’s stand. During the ceremonial gala the awards were presented to the winners by Stanisław Kalemba, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Fair was also visited by the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – Tadeusz Nalewajk, who participated in the Fair opening ceremony.
The AGROTRAVEL Fair is the most renowned and largest event promoting rural tourism. It serves also as a platform for the exchange of ideas within this sector and remains one of the most important instruments for commercialising rural tourism products. The fair was accompanied by several auxiliary events, such as: International conference on tourism infrastructure and its impact on rural areas, as well as numerous workshops oriented at service providers and rural leaders, study visits (for the press, representatives of KSOW, fair participants), a traditional products’ market and cultural scene.
„Agrotravel” is one of the most colourful fairs in Poland. This year's small jubilee has also proven colourful and interesting.
