American, Chinese Seed Trade Assns Sign Agreement

07.12.2012

Leaders from the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) and the China National Seed Association (CNSA) signed a historic Memo of Understanding (MOU) in Chicago Monday.
ASTA president Andy LaVigne says the agreement achieves the goals of providing new business opportunities for the world's two largest seed industries and ultimately works towards increased farmer productivity.
Jun Yang, vice-president of the CNSA says this provides Chinese companies the opportunity to better understand how the seed industry has developed in the U.S. and also explores the potential for future partnerships.
The MOU reflects both parties' desire to promote mutual interest through cooperation, information exchange and training in areas of the seed industry.
The signing happened just ahead of ASTAs convention this week.
