Bulgaria: Chinese agro company to invest EUR 100 million in Bulgaria

Chinese Tianjin State Farms Agribusiness Group announced its intention to invest 100 million Euro in the construction of Agro Business Park for processing of agricultural production in Bulgaria. The idea is to attract another five Chinese companies in order to invest in the construction of new facilities.

This became clear during the two investment forums in Beijing and Shanghai, organized by the Bulgarian Investment Agency / BIA / in the first days of November. The events attracted over 350 participants from business and political circles in China.

Among the special guests in Shanghai were Dong Tao, vice president of the Shanghai board for Foreign Investment and Development and, also, representatives of International Affairs Office of Shanghai municipality.

Chinese companies also stated their intentions to invest in food processing, engineering and tourism sectors.

Furthermore, recycling cars and auto parts companies expressed their intentions to invest in Bulgaria as well. Several more issues were also discussed: investment opportunities in telecommunications, export of organic food from Bulgaria to China and the participation of Chinese companies in strategic infrastructure projects.
