Kazakhstan: Main meat supplier in Kazakhstan in H1 2014 was U.S. with 52,900 tons
Kazakhstan has increased imports of American meat by 12.8% in January-August up to 52.9 thousand tons at the price of $43.7 million, according to the data of the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
The data on meat imports excluding the countries of the Customs Union show that Kazakhstan has purchased meat in January-August 2014 in the amount of 78.4 thousand tons worth $92.5 million, which is 4.4% less in volume and 13.4% less in the cost in comparison to the same period in 2013.
The largest meat suppliers in Kazakhstan, besides the United States, were: Ukraine - 9.3 thousand tons (-47.6%) for $16.4 million (-49.6%), Poland - 3.1 thousand tons (-26.6%) for $7.9 million (-25.3%) and Brazil - 3 thousand tons (+71.6%) to $4 million (+63.2%).
