Bulgaria: Agriculture ministry allocates EUR 10m to young farmers

A total of 409 projects under the Rural Development Program for young farmers will receive subsidies for EUR 10M, Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food informed.
The projects have been selected from 2,8 thousand applications. Projects in the livestock sector, for organic production, and farmers who have education or training in the field of agriculture had priority over the others.
Meanwhile, the State Fund Agriculture announced the payment of the first BGN 12M to farmers who have undertaken a 5-year commitment under the de minimis scheme. The condition is that farmers retain 75% of the number of animals that has been granted by December 31, 2014.
