Kazakhstan: Since the beginning of MY was exported about 5.3 million tons of Kazakh grain

As was announced yesterday at the extenede collegium of the Ministry of Agriculture, the security of the internal market of Kazakhstan due to domestic production in 2013 was more than 80%.

Despite adverse weather conditions, it was harvested 19 million tons of grain in net weight, which is 48 % more than last year. Moreover, was achieved record cotton yields (28.7 q/ha), potatoes (181.5 q/ha), vegetables (238.7 q/ha) and melons (212.4 q/ha).

"The inflow of investments in fixed capital in agriculture increased by 2.5% and amounted to 142.1 billion tenge", stated in the report of the press service of Ministry of Agriculture.

The volume of agricultural exports in January-November 2013 amounted to $2.4 billion. This is 27% higher than the annual average exports for the period 2009-2011. While exports to the CU countries for 11 months of 2013 as compared with 2012 increased by almost 65%.

In particular, there is a trend of increasing export of Kazakh grain. Since July 1, 2013, the beginning of the marketing year, as of February 1, 2014 was exported about 5.3 million tons of grain including flour in grain equivalent, which is 25 % more than the same period last season.

In 2013 2014 MY Kazakhstan plans to export 9-10 million tons of grain. Reference: $1 = 155.68 tenge.
