Kazakhstan to increase livestock breeding financing from 2014

The funds allocated from the state budget for the development of livestock breeding in 2014 will be increased by more than 35 per cent, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

“Over 7 months of 2013 the meat export outside the Customs Union was zero. Instead Kazakhstan imports meat from Belarus as well. The Head of State remembered the task is to reach 60 thousand tons meat export by 2016,” President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev noted speaking at an enlarged meeting of the Government on October 11, 2013.

“Kazakhstan imports meat from Belarus, but the volume of imports decreased by 76 per cent compared with the 2012,” the statement reads, the official website of Strategy 2050 reports.

"Import of meat is carried out by processing enterprisers to provide cheap raw materials, as the Kazakhstani products is inferior at cost to products from Belarus, " the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

It should be noted that in the framework of the laid the measures aimed at reducing the cost of production by ensuring availability of funds, to subsidize the cost of purchasing equipment, to guarantee loans are the basis of the "Agribusiness 2020" program.
